Last month, Kofax communicated that Mexico was going live with its implementation of the Carta Porte 3.0.

The Mexican Tax Authorities, the Servicio de Administracion Tributaria (SAT) have provided some revised timeframes regarding the co-existence of Carta Porte 2.0 and Carta Porte 3.0.

Mexican taxpayers can now submit either Carta Porte 2.0 or Carta Porte 3.0 until 31 March 2024. The usage of both versions had originally been set to expire on 1 January 2024. From 1 April 2024, Carta Porte 3.0 will be the only valid Carta Porte format in Mexico.

Timeframes for penalties associated with errors in the Carta Porte remain unchanged and will take effect from 1 January 2024.
